Here in the Raw Family office we don&#039;t count calories, however we really try not to eat too many fats like avocados and especially nuts. Coconut water is fine, but the flesh is fattening so I limit using it.  If you are drinking green smoothies for weight loss they are perfect for meal replacements. I sip on a smoothie for lunch and it usually lasts me the rest of the day.  For snacks I&#039;ll continue sipping the smoothie and munch on some organic fruit which sits on my desk, summer is perfect for this, we are enjoying cherries, nectarines and many different berries. I usually get hungry around 5pm and I&#039;ll have a bigger snack such as crackers or dips and carrot before dinner.</description>

		<description>I&#039;ve been drinking green smoothie for breakfast everyday for about a month, and I love it. I&#039;ve estimated that my 16oz smoothie has about 500 calories (e.g. fruit, greens, almond milk or coconut water, 1T almond butter.)  After reading others&#039; comments, I&#039;m wondering -- do you eat any other food during the day or just drink green smoothies for your meals and snacks?  And, what are your thoughts on calories -- If I were eating food, I would try to eat 2,000 calories per day or less.  Do you measure what you are taking in in terms of calories?</description>

I just blogged about how much my 5 and 7 year old grandchildren like them - and other raw foods.

I hope that starting them on raw foods early, will then become a life-long habit of healthy eating.

In that week all my cravings for sugar are gone, the caffeine habit is broken and I&#039;ve lost 5 lbs.  I only wish I had figure this out earlier!  ;o)</description>
