I applaud your dedication, but you are wrong. My research indicates that the anti candida diet, the anti diabetes diet, the low glycaemic diet, the losing weight diet, the anti estrogen diet and probably many others are in fact the same. No animal products whatsoever. High fat (vegetable sources) low carbs. No supplements except seeds.
This is the Nirvanna Diet. I wish you and your son well. John Kelly

Very interesting! You may have something here. As a wife of a type II diabetic, I can see a relationship to your hypothesis. AS blood sugar goes higher, candida also increases and the toxins that go with it do as well. Cutting sugar from the diet helps with both problems.
My husband lost over 100 lbs. with diet and exercise, then found out he was type II diabetic after eating very little sugar or fats for months. He does have a yeast problem. At this point, I wonder if the candida had entered his organs in a manner that changed his hormone balance, and or changed the manner in which his cells accept nutrients. Just something to think on. Thanks

I have systemic candida in the form of thrush. I am a nursing mama. I have had candida problems before, but this thrush is really painful. Will putting the fruit in my green smoothies add to the problem? I think I could cut the fat out for a week or two better than I could cut out all sugars including fruit. I just hate having to start anything so strict right around the holidays. It just makes sticking to it very tough. Will I get enough calories for my nursing baby not even getting the healthy fats? Don't I need the healthy fats? If I just give my body a 1-2 week break from the fats and then just add a few good fats back into my diet will that help with my yeast overgrowth? I should add that I am not on a raw food diet.

I have started drinking green smoothies as I am now in a fight for my life!

And for the first time I am able to have leafy greens without digestive distress.

Thank you.

Please take the time to check out Donna Gates, Body Ecology at www.bodyecology.com. She has lots of helpful information. It's amazing the relationship of the liver, the gall bladder, candida, the balance of beneficial bacteria in the intestines and what we eat and drink. And we do need fat - good fat, not processed fat, but our bodies may need help/encouragement in being able to digest the fat. She's the expert, I'm not!! Please check out her website.

Yes, greens can be combined with fruit as they are not are vegetable with starch. Please read this article
http://greensmoothiesblog.com/food-combining-in-green-smoothies/
It sounds like your first week has had some detox symptoms.
Perhaps you should avoid coconut water with every smoothie and just use plain water.
Here are some guidelines to drinking green smoothies http://greensmoothiesblog.com/category/green-smoothie-questions/
Exercise helps people with diabetes.

hi victoria
awesome article. it goes 100% along with my friends own observations. he lost 15 kiloes in 1 month after following this protocol. he does not do green smoothies however.
I got some questions. Im pre diabetic, obese and got severe candida problem.
Im on my first week of green smoothies. they contain nothing but coconut water, fruit and tons of greens. I feel sick as Im in a healing crisis, but I also feel bloated and I have lost no weight at all. Is it ok to mix greens with fruits? there is some fat in greens correct?

thank you for awesome info.

hugs
